Refund Travel is a service offered by Refund Assistance that allows your customers to upgrade their booking with enhanced refund terms during checkout. If a customer cannot use their purchase due to unforeseen circumstances covered by the protection policy (such as illness or travel disruptions), Refund Assistance handles the entire refund process directly with the customer. This means we manage refund requests, assess refund requests and issue payouts without any intervention required from you.
This is not a “cancel for any reason” (because someone doesn’t feel like it or has changed their mind). It is for emergency situations. Whilst a great headline, CFAR often has many hidden clauses such as no cancellation 24/48 hours in advance and/or partial repayment of a ticket rather than fully refundable.
Our Partners provide Refund Travel to their customers as optional extended refund terms. This allows them to apply for a refund in unforeseen circumstances outside their control. Refund Assistance acts as an administrator for the refundable booking service, refunding customers in the members’ names. This is not considered insurance but simply offering Partners’ customers different contractual terms and conditions for a higher booking cost. e.g. a flexible flight or the ability to cancel a hotel room.
Relationship breakups, sick or lost pets, traffic jams, the list is endless. Refund Assistance ’s philosophy is ’life happens,’ so our Customer Experience team is trained to see whether the customer has genuinely been unable to attend for a reason outside their foresight or control. If they can provide evidence of that, we will refund them.
